Bye-bye leaf springs.
The original leaf spring suspension that have been used on Full Size Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, J-truck, and Cherokee for over 40 years, though functional, are no longer from these times. Born in the horse and buggy era, the original leaf springs are not precise and certainly cannot absorb the power of our modern VIGILANTE drivetrains.
Original suspension
The original axle is connected to the chassis with leaf springs only, which leads to imprecise steering.
VIGILANTE suspension
Contrary to the original suspension, the axles of the VIGILANTE range are guided by multiple links that prevent lateral movement and guarantee straight acceleration and a comfortable ride.
Sportive suspensions.
EIBACH coils and adjustable FOX RACING 2.0 shock absorbers have replaced the original leaf springs suspension used on Full-Size Jeeps.
This new suspension is necessary to endure the range of high power and guarantees exceptional handling that will prevent the swaying effect that is common with the older vehicles.
Thanks to these long travel suspensions, the Jeep is very capable on and off the road.

Massive brakes - 24 pistons brakes instead of 2 and old drums.
More acceleration requires more braking power. The drum/disc combination originally found on Grand Wagoneers was functional but completey outdated. That’s why we replaced it with four huge slotted/drilled/vented discs that can withstand high temperatures. The firm grip is provided by BAER 6-piston calipers. This combination is installed on all VIGILANTE Jeeps.
